Building a Routine That Actually Sticks
Share
The skincare industry rewards complexity — more steps, more products, more claims. Most of it works against you. The routines that actually change skin over time tend to be the simplest ones, repeated consistently.
A few principles worth building around:
Start smaller than you think you should. A cleanser, one targeted serum, a moisturizer, and SPF is a complete routine. Add a mask two or three times a week and you've covered nearly everything most skin needs. It's easier to add a step later than to figure out which of eight products is causing irritation.
Introduce one new product at a time. Give it two to three weeks before adding another. This is the only reliable way to know what's working — and, if something reacts badly, what caused it.
Match products to the season, not just the concern. Skin that's balanced in summer often runs drier in winter. Revisit your routine every few months rather than assuming what worked in April still fits in December.
Let bundles do the thinking for you, at least at first. If you're starting from scratch, a curated set removes the guesswork of pairing products that are actually meant to work together. Our Bundles & Kits collection is built around that idea — complete routines in one box, rather than a shelf of products bought separately and hoped into a routine.
The goal isn't to do more. It's to do the right few things often enough that they actually have a chance to work. For more on getting the sequence right, see our guide to layering skincare in the correct order.
